Every half term we are going to be learning about a different famous Scientist.
This half term (Autumn 2) we will learn about Zhang Heng.
Here are some facts about him.
Born 78-139 CE.
Born in China.
He was an astronomer and inventor.
Why is he a famous scientist?
He realised the moon was not a light source and that it reflected light from the Sun.
He invented a machine called a Seismometer that could detect near earthquakes and what direction they were coming from.
I have added some videos you can watch to understand more about his work.
