Musical Genre of the Half-Term BHANGRA

Let's Celebrate!

This half-term's musical treat  for our pupils is Bhangra. This musical genre originated in India and was used as a celebration by farmers when the harvest was gathered in. Today, Bhangra is sung and danced by people across the world and has evolved to use a range of exciting percussive instruments and hip-hop dance moves. We are sure you will enjoy it as much as we do. 

As with all of our composers and musical genres, Bhangra is a genre which is recommended in the Model Music Curriculum.
