Composer of the Half Term Autumn 1 2021 Gustav Holst

                       "KEEPING MUSIC ALIVE AT LAKESIDE!"

Our children, across school, are given amazing opportunities in their school days to listen to, watch video of and talk about  incredible orchestras playing a range of music. This half-term, we are appreciating the powerful piece of music entitled, "Mars" by Gustav Holst. 

These are some of the things children have said about it:

"It's like an army getting ready for a battle-they're closing in on the enemy then they attack!"

"The trombones are strong and powerful. I like playing the trombone at school."

"The conductor swishes her arms about and the musicians know when she wants them to play loudly  or softly."

"I've never seen a conductor so energetic and proud of her orchestra."

"It's amazing and awesome!"
