Composer of the Half-Term Autumn 2 BEETHOVEN
Date: 25th Oct 2022 @ 8:15pm
I hope you enjoyed the stunning music of George Gershwin as much as we did in school. His RHAPSODY IN BLUE was shared every Monday morning in assembly and was listened to by many children in class.
On 17th December, we celebrate the birthday of Ludwig Van Beethoven, who was born in 1770 and died in 1827. We are exploring details of his life and the history of one of his most famous pieces of music, "The 5th Symphony." Beethoven has an extraordinary story to tell, including how he was able to continue conposing a wealth of remarkable music, despite going deaf when he was a young man.
As usual, our Composer of the Half-Term is recommended in the MODEL MUSIC CURRICULUM. I'm sure our children will find Beethoven's music sensational.
